Philippines? If the beneficiary is the mother and she has sole custody (typically the case) then no such letter is necessary.

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

Were you married to the father?

 

If never married to the father then the mother has sole custody of the child, and you need nothing from the father.

Do you have a court order that gives you custody of the child?    As noted in my earlier posting - the MOTHER has sole custody, not the father.  For the father to have legal custody of the child may require a court ruling.    

 

You may want to talk to an attorney regarding this.
