Have you tried calling USCIS? or contacting your local congressional representative?

What is the number to call? I called CSC today at 1-800-375-5283 and was a total waist of time! Each and ever option was a dead-end. Is there a better number to call?

Thanks,

Max.

I'm also a Jan filer with CSC and I've been wondering, WHAT"S TAKING SO LONG? We did recieve a letter our case was approved. I'm not sure if this is considered the NOA2, because it was just a letter and not a form like the NOA1 (which actually said Notice of action). So should we recieve another NOA2?

We got that letter at the end of May and we're still waiting for the packet. I've noticed other couples, even with fiances from Mexico have already had their interviews...

So why is it taking so long with us? Dealing with all this stuff with immigration, the NVC and the consulate is like wrestling with a black hole...

Please fill in a timeline and add to the database. If you received a letter saying it was approved...then yes, that is your NOA2. Check the guides and call NVC, if you received approval in late May it is probably at the Embassy. You can get your Embassy case number through NVC. Then email the Embassy and see where it is at, you're close to finishing this trek, congrats.

Thanks Etripke,

I did recieve an email from the consulate saying they sent us the packet back in late MAy. We still haven't recieved it. I called USCIS today to see about changing my address and the NOA2( I hadn't read your email, new to this site AND blogging/chatting in general). They said we weren't approved til June 27. Very wierd... Just looking forward to all this being over and getting to be with my fiance again....

Find out what your case number is from NVC. Once you have that you should either call or email the Embassy and see where things are at. USCIS has really given out some confusing information over the past 2 months. Your actual approval date should be on the I-797 (Notice of Action) that they sent to you indicating the approval.

You need to stay on top of this or you may be waiting and waiting and......

Not always true... My petition was approved May 3rd but I got caught in the whole not sending out NOA2 thing. So on my hard copy, it states that my approval date is some odd day in late June, though the period of validity starts May 3rd...

For those calling USCIS, have you tried following the prompts for an RFE? You can talk to Cali that way, rather than the unhelpful call center ;) That's how I found out I was approved.

As you can see Im playing the waiting game too. When I called in on the 5th they said in 20 days from that date I can make a "formal" inquiry about the case. The uscis processing times should update tomorrow and hopefully I will see some action then. I feel for you, make you feel like we are lost in a black hole huh?

Jesus h! You two (chasnik and Thomas&Cyril) must be BEYOND upset. That's just out of order. Their 6 month timeline is SUCH BS too.

chasnik, I saw where you had contacted your congressperson - any further updates from them? Thomas, have you considered contacting your congressperson yet?

There is almost nothing worse than the CSC 'black hole'. :(

Oh and it looks like the new BS dates are out.

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtim...eviceCenter=CSC

You should both be able to make a formal inquiry now, chasnik, as they have passed your NOA1 date.

I got an email saying they had resent their inquiry because they hadnt heard anything either. Those dates should update again on Wed or Thurs and be in our time frame. I am upset...it is driving me batty, but Mohammed says this is our destiny and we must be patient. I used my patience the first month lol!!! My NOA1 was on Jan 03,2007 so I have a few days before I can do an inquiry.
