Question for those who did the interview, do we have to memorize the dates ?

In the n400 questions like the date (day-month-year) of like where we lived, dates of moving jobs, what date to what date the prior marriage of a spouse .. etc  , or the officer will mention the dates and we have to confirm it ?

they did ask my husband the birth date of my late spouse and then called me in to ask why he did not know it

i said he never met him as he died long before i met Adil and we just didn't celebrate a birthday for a deceased person

seemed a stupid thing for them to think he needed to know

death was in 2007 and Adil did not come till 2015

but for the date of a  past marriage / divorce ,  yes,  you should know as the person is still part of your new spouse's life especially if they had children together

Was ok if I said only month.

During my interview the IO asked about my hired dates as well as my spouse from our previous companies. I find it very odd since some people have bad memories, but good thing I still remember all of these.

Just memorize them just on the safe side in case the IO will ask you, because you don't know what kind of IO you will deal with, some are friendly but some are not and very tedious. Good luck!

You need to remember the date of marriage, if divorce, need to remember it, birthday of spouse , name of spouse's previous spouse name, if applicable.  All these are discussed during between husband and wife time to time during marriage and they try to figure out from all those questions about genuine and normal  marriage, since you are applying based on 3 year marriage.   So dates related to marriage are expected to be memorized.
