Sorry if my answers/statements are weird. I JUST figured out how to turn off the timeline view for the posts so I can just read one message after another instead of clicking on each indivudual post to see it one at a time.

my husband never had 1099

So if he never had, then he had either w-2 or 1044 or whatever. Send in ALL package, everything you can gather.

Prob just the W-2. That is what we are sending in. Very confusing..

Noooo, you'll get another RFE. It clearly states in the I-864 that ALL supporting documentation MUST be included. That includes W2's 1099's 1040's etc...so if you have interest income from a bank account, you have to send the paperwork for that...tuition statements....mortgage interest paid, EVERYTHING. Be careful here- anything in your tax return that references a supporting document- Make a photocopy of that supporting documentation and send it in!!!

ok a 1099 is for those who are self-employed. If you do not have a 1099 you don't have to send one as it doesn't relate to you...I think the checked box request is a generic request paper. Obviously you can't send things that do not pertain to you and you do not have...

Not correct. A form 1099 could apply to many different things. For example, my husband had 2 form 1099's for interest income on 2 accounts. It is not specific to self-employment.

Regardless though, if you don't have one (because it was not needed for the tax return), you don't need to send it. (sorry just wanted to clarify again for those of us who need straight yes or no answers to our questions. lol -- like me! )

This RFE is not weird at all in fact is the most common RFE that we have in VJ... I received the same and was solved thanks to VJ posts. I sent W2 and again all other tax forms that I already sent in my original package.

Actually, it seems like they tend to loose financial part of docs. In VJ seems like one after other these RFEs about W-2 and 1099.
