K1 visa 1 year ban

Just a quick question here, if someone is deemed inadmissable under health grounds for past marijuana use and receives a 1 year, after the ban is up and has proved they are in remission via regular drug testing, is the 1 year ban removed from the record?. I've read somewhere that after the year, the panel physician can request it be removed from the record due to remission being achieved. Is this so or will it still show up at border when entering the United States on the K1

Usually the medical is held for a period  for psych evaluation ( length depends on consulate) and then you are retested.   Usually you are not seen by the consulate until you clear medical.

It remains as part of their record (no way to know what exactly CBP sees, though), but it's not a reason to deny admission after a CO issued a visa knowing about it.

Nothing is removed from the record.
