My wife legally changed her name to my last name when we got married. We are still waiting on AP/EAD and AOS interview. She's has gotten her SS card with her new last name.

Is she able to get a state ID or license in the state of California? Is she able to get a new passport with her new name from her country of Canada? We're trying to figure out the next steps here while were waiting on the process.

I'd probably check with Canada to confirm the law, but my guess is that you'll need to 'officially' change her name in Canada...as in they would need to update their records.

From a quick Google search, this appears to be the policy, you can probably call them if you have more questions: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/change-name.html

Though they do not mention a NOA with a pending AOS it might be worth a shot anyway. Otherwise you can get the license they provide for non legal residence.
