slec called in 2 weeks after sputum smear negaive result

Hi. I had my medical exam last June 28, 2019 cxr result had suspicious densities, im currently asymptomatic, had my afb smear result last July 5, 2019 and it was negative, they asked me to come back to SLEC on Aug 30, 2019 for culture results. Unfortunately they called me this afternoon (July 18, 2019) to come back at SLEC on Monday, July 22, 2019. Is it possible that my culture test turned out positive? In as early as two weeks? They wont disclose any information. 😑

Yes you will undergo a 6 month tb treatment.  Had mine 2 month  sputum  cultured  result last Monday July 15,2019. No call from them in 8 weeks.

Very possible it is positive.

Not really.   An early call from SLEC normally means positive culture.  Prepare for 6 months of DOT  (Direct Observation Therapy)

I am sorry to hear this.., I was sputum too but SLEC never called me, I am sorry to say this but you positive and will be undergoing 6 months treatment..

Yes if they call you before the end of the 8 week period it usually means bad news!

Or ... good news.  TB kills .. catching then taking the medication saves a life.   

 

Ya it is a delay, but a small thing compared to the larger picture.
