Hi all,

We filed form I-751 for my husband 2 months ago. We got the text message saying that they received the case and that the form I-797 will follow. We found out that they mailed it out on June 5th over a month ago and we still haven't received it. We leave for a trip to Italy on July 29th. We have contacted the USCIS multiple times and they put in a service request but that can take up to 30 days which wont help us at all. We are supposed to get a call to schedule an info pass appointment to get a I-551 stamp in his passport for travel but still haven't gotten the call. We are also worried they wont have any appointment availability in such short notice. Any advice on what we should do? Will we be able to leave the country with just the receipt # showing he applied. Should we try to go to the USCIS office without an appointment to get his stamp? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Nope he will need the stamp in his passport.

I had same issue with my son.

They called me back 2 days later to set up an appointment and we got it after another 2 days.

Ok thanks for the insight so you got an appointment just 2 days after they called?

Yes we did. We got options for different dates but took the fastest one as we had to leave the country.
