My driver's license was issued same day after my driving test was completed and my conditional green card did not arrive until the end of that said month.

This is not always the case in every state.  For instance, in Michigan, having a foreign DL does not necessarily get someone out of the written test.

Apologies if I was unclear....so please, let me clarify:

My home country passport and driver's license was used along with my newly issued SSN to apply for my Florida driver's license.

My home country driver's license was proof that I did not have to do the mandatory 4-hour drug and alcohol course that is a pre-license requirement for new drivers.

I did the written and practical driving test and my license was issued same day.

 

I am fully aware that each state handles DMV requirements differently. I only shared my experience with the OP.
