Weird question about filing for naturalization

My stepson  took a plea deal in a court case that was to last 1 year but gets released next month all being well. He will be a convicted felon who has to be released to an address that has been check by local police which our home has and will have to live with us for a short period, I say short, depends when he finds a place, he will have a job lined up so that helps.

 

Here is the big question, without going into detail about him, had he gone to a full trial, he could have been facing 20 to 30 years prison, but opted for the deal that was 1 year jail although he claims his innocents , the system says otherwise, but as he has to live with us and I being a GC holder and I want to apply for naturalization soon....Is this going to affect my application?

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with you. I thought you were gonna your son was a GC holder and wanted to apply for naturalization, then no, probably not. Trump probably would deport him too (The government has been deporting GC holders who has criminal history). But you are not him. So you are free and clear.

Unless you, yourself, were charged/convicted, it should not have any effect on YOUR naturalization....

But no, OP, you are good to go with your N400 application  

Criminal history is for YOU, the applicant, not other members of your family
