US Embassy in Warsaw - passport pick up

Hello everyone,

I saw this when choosing delivery options: Please note that to collect your passport at one of the TNT office or from the courier, you must present an original, government-issued photo ID.

The problem is that the only government-issued photo ID I've got is my passport. Has anyone had to deal with this problem? Is there a way to pick up a passport without an original, government-issued photo ID?

In Ukraine they have an 'internal' passport which serves as identification for affairs taking place within the country (ex:  opening a bank account).  The international passport is separate and used more for travel outside of the country.  This is how I understand it though my interpretation may not be 100% correct.  What I am sure of is the existence of the 'internal' passport.

Belarus doesn't offer something similar?  If so, I would get one in a hurry.

No, we have only one passport which is used both as an internal ID and a document for travel

Sorry, I wish I could be of more help.  Unless another woman from Belarus responds with another option for you I think your next step is to send a message to the Warsaw embassy directly (see link below).  I have to think they have encountered this before with others from Belarus.  They require government-issued photo IDs.  Maybe they can suggest something.

I will answer my own question. The email from the embassy said the following:

K1 and K2 vis applicants receive their passports with visas at the embassy.  You do not need to present your government-issued photo ID.
