K1 visa petition request for extension

Hi. Our k1 visa petition is expiring in less than 2 months. Problem is, my fiancé and I don't think we will be able to save enough money for all the remaining expenses (medical, interview,travels, ceremony, AOS), so we're planning to apply for an extension of the validity of our k1 petition. Does this have any negative effect on our application? I'll appreciate replies regarding my query. Thank you!

Embassy will automagically extend it up to one year

Get the sponsor to write a letter asking for an extension and state you are both free to marry and intend to get married within the 90 days

Green Card Approved July 11, 2014 Approved, no interview. Went to card production.

Green Card received July 17, 2014 GC received without interview

Removal of Conditions

Mailed I-751 Dec 16, 2015 Submitted ROC (removal of conditions)

Received Dec 18, 2015 USPS notification of successful delivery

Check Cashed Dec 21, 2015 Check was cashed

NOA-1 Issued Dec 21, 2015 NOA-1 for ROC issued

NOA-1 Issued Dec 26, 2015 NOA-1 Received

Biometrics Appt. Jan 29, 2016 Biometrics Appointment Scheduled [Completed]

Relax.   No worries .. embassy extends the validity of the petition up to one year automatically.
