Hi everyone. I had my GC interview yesterday at Farifax office. It went well, the officer was nice and she asked around 20 questions (my age, my wife's age, my military experience, the place I work at, etc.) She also asked for lease documents, tax return and documents with my job info. I thought I'd be asked to provide the medical exam documents (I paid 350$ for the med.check) but she didn't even ask for them. Also, I answered some I-485 questions (Yes/No).  After the interview she said she'd recommend us for approval. I've got the notification "the card is being produced" 20 minutes after the interview. Just back from our interview. The IO was very nice and was an immigrant himself. He asked my spouse to confirm all of the typical biographic data I-130 questions, me to do the same for the I-485, asked me a bunch of the yes/no questions, then asked how we met, where we lived. Then asked what additional info we had for him. I handed him a fairly large stack of photos, which he went through, asking where they were/who was in them etc. That took around 5-10 minutes. Then I gave him a bunch of supporting documents - bank statements from joint accounts, leases, certified copy of married license, car insurance, apartment insurance, utility bills, 401k beneficiaries.

 

He seemed very satisfied and said "I'm definitely going to approve you". Walked us through 2yr conditional green card and applying for US citizenship in 2yrs 9 months from when I get the conditional greencard. He then gave us a signed piece of paper saying nothing else was needed on our case. He again reiterated he'd approve us quickly. That was it. Didn't ask us about our actual ceremony or any other details about our relationship etc. I feel like this was a 10/10 on the easiness scale. He was really friendly, and we talked a bit about overlaps in places we've lived worked/studied.

 

Very glad it's over, and now just waiting for confirmation of approval.

I had the interview yesterday, and it was fairly easy. The status changed to "new card is being produced" by the end of the day! Have you received your approval?

Nope - it seems like some people are lucky and get instantly approved. Other people have been waiting anywhere from 24hrs to 3 months.

I hope you will get an update soon. Honestly I wasn't expecting the approval to be this soon, bc the email that I received right after the interview said my case must be reviewed.

Not a fun update - seems that USPS misdelivered my green card. The informed delivery status said it is delivered; the USCIS sent an email that said the delivery is completed, but the card is not in my mail.

Try not to worry yet - file a case with USPS and also try calling them. My EAD went "missing" in the postal system for about 10 days and still turned up safely. Fingers crossed it arrives ok!

Did your status get updated to 'delivered' while it went missing? We went to local post offices today, but no luck so far.

No it didn't, it basically showed as "Delayed" with no updates for 10 days.

You were right - after going MIA for five days, my card was delivered today!

Still no movement on my case 22 days after the interview. I submitted a case inquiry via a Tier 2 officer and got this back yesterday - "USCIS records indicate your case is pending review by an Immigrations Services Officer at this time.  We regret that we cannot provide a timeframe for completing the review.  We will mail you a notice when or if any action is required.  Please use the links listed below for any updates in your case."...

My status final changed to "New Card is Being Produced" yesterday, 30 days after my interview - very glad this process is almost done!
