Administrative Processing

So my fiance and I interviewed at the US Embassy in Bangkok on March 19 2019 and they said she was approved and took her passport and said her visa should be back with 2 weeks.  She wasn't given a 221g, just a paper with information regarding human trafficking/etc.  It has been over 2 months now and I'm not sure what the status is.  I've emailed the embassy, but get the generic reply the case is under administrative processing with no timeline but to wait.  I've check the ceac website, but it list the case as Ready.  I would have expected it to be Administrative Processing if what they emailed me was the correct information.  I've called the NVC, but they said they don't have any information.  I'm just confused at this point.  If it is under administrative processing, should the ceac website state so?  I just want to know the paperwork hasn't fallen off the wayside, but don't even know where to find that information.  If anyone has been through a similar situation?  How long do I wait? (I've read different views some from normally less than 60 days, to other people 1 year+ on administrative review)  Should the ceac status really be "Ready" instead of "Administrative Processing"?

CEAC sometimes is not the most reliable. It should state proper thing but has been known to have some issues.

So most likely, yes you're in AP right now. Even a verbal approval at the interview can be reversed during AP depending on what happens. Nothing is really approved or final until visa is in hand.

Now, that being said, like you mentioned, AP is open ended. Can be a brief 2-3 days, or 2-3 weeks, 2-3 months, or even years. Couple members recently on here had hit 18 months... so.. not a lot can be done to be honest.

NVC has nothing to do with this at this stage... you can contact your respresentative/congress person, but they can only 'nudge' the embassy or file and inquiry, but they can't do anything really.

It's just kind of a waiting game now.

Timeline

Hi everyone. I’m an August 2018 K1 visa petitioner. My fiancé is from England. We’ve been together a year and a half and started dating when I was separated from my ex. We got a RFE in feb 2019 and they needed a certified copy of my divorce decree. I got a certified copy and when I called USCIS about the issue the agent told me it was a small issue and my application looked great. I waited a month and still no response. I asked our attorney and he said I could call. They said they were waiting on another background check and still said it looked great. This agent said because my fiancé is English we should have no issue. Fast forward to last week and I called for another update since it had been 90 days since I sent in the RFE. The customer service rep said my case was denied. I was upset and she said a letter was mailed out on May 13. I had attorney call USCIS to confirm why and we were told by another agent it wasn’t denied and she was apologizing for the fact the customer service rep told me that. This morning I got a notification from the website that our petition was denied and a letter was sent out June 13. Can someone please help me understand this? First we were denied, then not and now we are. I’m so heart broken.

Just an update.  The lase week, it our case was updated a few times, but still showed Ready.  Our case finally went into Received and Issued on the same day today (July 1).  It took 105 days from the interview date for the administrative processing to finish and they never asked for any additional information.  I'm thankful it didn't take longer as some of the cases I've read about and hope others won't have to wait as long.  Hopefully it won't take long before she gets her passport in the mail.  Thanks to everyone for their responses.
