POLICE CERTIFICATE

So, my husband tried to get a police certificate from the city we currently live in (hes always lived here) and they said they couldnt give it to him due to an arrest he had at age 18... will i need it at his interview?

We are already sending in his police records stating it has been dismissed years ago due to age of file...

Should i be worried his nvc packet wont have it??

You need either the state or federal police certificate.   The city one will not be accepted.

Does he need one from here, Washington state? hes always lived here since age 4. I know once we go to interview he will get one in Ciudad Juarez.

Ok so if he has not lived, for more than six months, since the age of 18 in Mexico he should not need one for Mexico.  You might have to explain this at the NVC.   

 

For his time in the US they just use his FBI report.

His FBI report?? oh no, thatll take weeks to receive. I believe i have to send that along with the visa packet ,right??

 

Im at the point where i just submitted his ds260, but they wont issue an interview date until i submit the affidavit of support

You don;t need to order it.   State Department will access it..

No there is nothing you do.  State Department has access to any US records.  You will need proof that the records for his US Charges are not available.   This is usually a certified letter from the adjudicating court clerks office.

Thats a relief, we got a certified letter stating his "case has been dismissed and destroyed due to age of file". . Will that be enough??
