Hello

we have met for one time which is  like 3 months ago , and we want to start our process soon . but do we need to wait for another meeting to avoid ref and gather more proofs to file the petiton .

PS: I think if we will wait its going to be another couple of months from now . and this is another long time , and we also don't want to rush and get a REF !

What you'all think ?

You probably won’t get RFE as USCIS just need just to make sure you have poof that had at least 1 physical meeting within the past 2 years. You had one, you are good.

However, for the interview (visa approval) the more visits the better, many countries with high fraud like Vietnam - it is recommended to have least 2 visits before filing the petition for K-1 and at least 1 more visit before the interview.

Anyway, marriage is a long term commitment and it is best to know about each other good enough to commit to it. Physical face-time can give show things that a couple has not been considered before.

The petition is about meeting direct requirements: being free to marry, having met in person at least once within the past 2 years, etc. If you meet those requirements and provide sufficient evidence to show it, then it'll be fine. USCIS does not validate that the relationship is valid for the I-129F petition...that's all handled at the consulate stage.

Only one visit prior to filing can be a red flag for some countries. I don't know Algeria that well personally so take it with a grain of salt, but MENA countries do tend to be on the more difficult side of things at the consulate stage. I'd suggest more face time before starting the process. Time spent in person is the best evidence of a relationship you can get for a K-1.

While one face-to-face visit is the minimal requirement, and should be OK. Since you will be interviewing in a MENA country, which tend to scrutinize every application very thoroughly. I would suggest getting together for visits as many times as you can.

My wife went through a tough consulate in Guangzhou, China. Fortunately, we are able to get together three times, in addition to traveling to be with my future family when they had their consulate interview. That consulate does not allow US petitioner to attend, but I was in the area,, supporting my future family.  Wow, it was a long round trip, but it was very interesting and quite enjoyable. It was an excellent chance for us to get to know each other much better.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
