RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I think it is safe to say that the New York Times story yesterday that we were the first to highlight was CYA. They were trying to get out in front of things and acknowledge the FBI had a reason to spy on Trump. But they have failed because the universal conclusion across the spectrum is the FBI was spying on the Trump campaign.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

As Rush says, highly readable and understandable by laymen who have no legal training.

 

Question in my mind is whether there's distinction between "counterintelligence searches" and "prosecutory investigations," and which one this debacle qualifies as.  "Witch hunt" it unquestionably was.

I think the NYTimes column is a good example of how the mainstream media will cover it.  I think they will give it some notice, but they will spin it as much as possible and drop it as soon as they can.

No need for CNN to station a crew outside an arrestee's house before dawn for the arrest to be made.
