How close to the interview date do you get notified?

My ETA for the interview/case completion is Jan 2020. Now, I understand that this date could shift over time and it's not at all set in stone. It's been saying that for six months now though so it's fairly stable.

 

Question is, around when will I get my interview appointment letter? it's it pretty close to the estimated time? or a little in advance?

It's all dependent on the field office, really, and how backlogged they are.  As well as how quickly your background checks clear.  So hard to give a really precise answer/narrow it down.

 

Plus, the estimated case completion time is inaccurate, as you already noted.

 

To give you an example...when I filed, my case completion time started at 10 months, then all of a sudden jumped to 18 months.

I completed my oath only 96 days after I filed.

 

Does your online status reflect that you're inline for interview scheduling, or is it still giving the biometrics update?

It just says 'we reviewed your biometrics' and once per month I get an email saying something like 'your case hasn't updated since December 2018'.

It won't be THAT inaccurate. I'm filing in Seattle which is notoriously long but predictably so.

So I'm guessing around the new year I'll get an appointment letter if the typical time is a month before.
