My people, please help 😥 I scheduled an interview appointment and the barcode on it shows Application ID from previous appointment. I cancelled and rescheduled, still same thing.

I have filled out my DS160 but have not signed and submitted it yet.

How do I get the Application ID changed to the current one?

Should I have submitted application before scheduling interview?

How many times can I cancel appointment without losing my visa fee?? Please help ☹️

3 times.

Call the NVC and ask them to remove your old DS160 submission.

In order to schedule an interview you should have both ready status and have submitted the DS160 already.

I have filled out my DS160 but have not signed and submitted it yet. - DS160 MUST BE COMPLETED, SIGNED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE SCHEDULING INTERVIEW WITH EMBASSY

How do I get the Application ID changed to the current one? - YOU CAN CALL THE EMBASSY FOR HELP WITH THIS; MAY OR MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE WITH NIGERIA'S EMBASSY

Should I have submitted application before scheduling interview? - YES, THAT IS THE MAIN REQUIREMENT

How many times can I cancel appointment without losing my visa fee?? Please help :( - YOU HAVE 3 CHANCES SO I SUGGEST CALLING THE EMBASSY BEFORE YOU MAKE MORE ATTEMPTS AT CANCELLING AND RESCHEDULING

3 times?? Thank you. I am relieved. So what I am thinking now:

a. I cancel the new appointment

b. Submit DS160

c. Reschedule appointment.

What do you think?

You are welcome ;)

We have all been on this journey and didn't know which end was up when we started. If we can help one person with the start of their visa journey, a little always goes a long way :)

No I think you should submit the DS160 and ask your embassy to remove the old DS160 confirmation off of this appointment and not waste a whole cancellation.

UPDATE: The issue has been resolved. Called the Consulate but the agent wasn't sure about his answers. Therefore, I hanged up and sent an email to the visa desk support, they responded under 30mins (THIRTY!) and sent me an updated interview appointment with correct Application ID.

Thanks guys. Good luck to us all.
