My approved packet was received by NVC last week. Couple days ago I emailed her the US embassy link in Ukrainian. It was then she realized that she needed to declare all previous divorces (2). We have the DC from the previous marriage of course. I didn't know anything about the previous marriage which lasted from 3/82-8/83, all of 17months. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to work around this. Will bringing any applicable documentation to the interview suffice???

She may now find herself in a difficult situation as the I-129F was approved without the prior marriages and divorces being disclosed. The other factor being that you had no knowledge of the prior marriage. Red flags. She can take the documentation along to the interview and hope for the best. Not sure how it is going to be explained away to a Conof at interview, when it clearly on the I-129F and the G-325A that she completed and signed, asked for details on previous marriages if there was any.

All the best.

Call or email the embassy and ask them. Alternatively, contact an immigration attorney. This forum is great for basic issues but something like this needs more professional guidance.

It seems that in Ukraine and other former Soviet countries, paperwork sometimes gets "lost."

If she didn't disclose anything before and it all got approved, I wouldn't even bring it up again. Chances are the embassy and USCIS will never even have a clue.

However, I would have her get proof of the divorces and have them translated into English, then if they ask about them at the interview she could present evidence.

But if they don't bring it up..... I wouldn't bring it up either. Don't lie to them, but if they don't ask, you don't have to volunteer any extra info. It looks like your case is on the way to getting approved, don't do anything to stop that. If they ask about it, then submit the divorce forms. But, only if they ask.

Be careful-

I think the statement on the G325a says something like " under penalty of perjury, everything stated is correct and to the best of my knowledge..."

or something like that...she signed it as being true; with the ommission of previous marraiges ( which were legally terminated).........

Hmmm...In the end, do what you think is best...I kind of agree with slim, as that solution appears the easiest, but not sure if it will be the easiest if found out...

Be careful....

Best wishes....

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Yeah, I would have to agree with Slim.... be prepared with the translated documents but also just keep quiet, it is rather unlikely that they would check into such things... easpecially in Ukraine.
