We just finished filling out the DS-160 and there was no pay, I thought there was a fee of $265 for the DS-160, I'm guessing no?

Also, I am just making sure so when it happens here shortly, as far as I understand it, we can now go ahead and schedule the medical, and with us knowing the date of the medical we then can schedule the interview for 2 weeks after the medical?

Can we schedule the medical without having packet 3 in hand at the time?

After you fill out the DS-160 make sure you save the confirmation number. You are going to have to email it to your embassy with your NVC number try and find a guide on how to do it for your UK embassy. After you send your NVC / DS-160 confirmation number (which is called Packet 3). They will send you links with information about scheduling your medical and interview which is when you pay for your DS-160.

There’s no fee for the DS160 form. You pay a fee when you book your interview. You’ll not be able to actually book your interview until your status says Ready.

You can book the medical as long as you have your case number and the required documents; police certificate, medical summary,  vaccination record and something to show your case number. The NVC will email you when your case ships so you can use that. Keep in mind that your visa entry will be dated to expire 6 months from your medical date not the interview date.

You don’t need “packet 3” for it. This is just one page that is mailed to you about a week after your case gets shipped to the embassy and it has a link to the official embassy instructions on their site.

That is not a London procedure ^ ^

OP go read the four steps London provides in their online instructions. It explains when the payment part is and how to do it. Open each step. That's a photo below. Go to the link you have been given before.IMG_1700.thumb.PNG.4adb4acabe471b16a08fd1c453fb7299.PNG

yeah we have read them, was more just getting confirmation from the thread, making sure we are doing things properly.  Scheduling the medical next, then once CEAC case status says 'READY' then scheduling the interview, and making sure they are 2 weeks apart from each other to give it time for the medical results to get to the embassy
