Ignorance generally isn't considered an excuse - for anything.

Though the fact that celebrities sign themselves up to support dubious causes and ideas isn't exactly new. Did you ever see that Brass Eye skit on "Cake"? You can probably find it on Youtube.

I have the Brass Eye DVD.

Who else saw Maria Conchita Alonso naming names on Fox today? She was saying that Danny Glover and someone else were actually working with Hugo Chavez. #######?

There are several people that think Chavez is something to be encouraged. Cindy Shehan and Harry Bellefonte are two that spring to mind.

When I saw that picture of Sheehan with Chavez that's when I lost all respect for her. I'm sorry for her loss, and I agree with her about the war, but you don't go to bed with our enemies just cause you both don't like Bush.

When a democratically elected leader puts in place polices that disagree with US policy or ideals the US finds some way to replace said leader. Sometimes with an actual dictator.

I don't have any doubt that some of the coup attempts on Chavez have had US funding or backing. What happened to letting a country decide on their own how they want to run their own country?

Russia has also have also heavily limited the media in recent years. Where are the calls to replace Putin? Oh wait, they supposedly our friends.

The US has also put in place a propaganda arm... I mean news service, Voice of America. The US has a different kind of censorship, ignorance, what doesn't increase ratings doesn't get covered. If it gets covered its usually pretty biased.

Absence of support for US policy towards Venezuela does not indicate support for Chavez or Venezuela. An issue can have more than 2 sides. Contrary to what the Replicrats and Democans what you to think :P

Personally, I think of the people of Venezuela keep electing a person like Chavez thats their right. In a Democracy they can elect whatever leader they want. Its hypocritical to support a coup against a democratically elected leader just because they don't want to be friends with you. The US should stay hands off and let them do what they want. But thats not going to happen as long as they have oil.

Dear, I know a lot more about this issue than you're assuming.

I supported the initial coup against Chavez and I wasn't embarrassed about my country's involvement, and I'd support another US-funded coup attempt. That bag of turds needs to be stopped now.
