N400 interview done but RFE (request for evidence)

They're questioning whether you're still living in a marital union. I know it's a hassle, but I would treat this as a I-751 and just put a package together again. Hopefully you'll find the following framework useful (click the arrow to go directly to the post). I would be careful to include material from marriage to the present. Best of luck!

Do you think in our cover letter we should explain why we don’t have insurance together? I just feel like the more we try to explain it’d look like we trying to cover up something.

You cannot provide the things that you don't have. Just explain in writing why you dont't have insuranace together. That is what I did when our health insurance were separate when I applied for my ROC. My ROC was approved with no RFE and interview.

Economically wise, we're better of separate, because it's way to expensive if we will get our health insurance as one of the dependent. If both of you have a separate insurance, you can include the health insurance policy as evidence but make sure it's the same address.

This is a RFE for I-751 specifically. Not N400 where I-751 has already been approved or in my case I-751 approved at N400 interview while N400 still got RFE for relationship evidence.

This is actually weird, asking for relationship evidence for N-400 where the-751 was approved already. Bum-barged them with more evidences.

Renter's or home insurance?

Are you beneficiaries on each other bank accounts?

Will? Living will?

In real life we are young, so never once we thought about will or life Insurance since I was in school 3 out of the 5 years we are together. Plus being together for so long make you lazy to go out and do stuff. I’m pretty sure most Americans couples wouldn’t think of doing any of the thing us immigrants are required to do until they wanna have kids or getting close to 35-40. When we filed for 2 years green card and ROC, we didn’t have any of these things (insurance too) so suddenly going out to get them would make it look more suspicious. Thank you for your information though, i hope all the new couples in the forum would learn from our mistakes and be better prepared :)

I think I visited your posts while looking for similar case as mine. Very throughout, i got my 10 years green card already so I was arrogant when it comes to preparing for N400. However I still didn’t have joint insurance policies during both times so I don’t think we will suddenly show up with it now

I was thinking that maybe it’s better to not explain it because then for the car insurance i will have to mention that his license is suspended. And for health i don’t have my job anymore so I don’t know if I can retrieve my plan online. He just got laid off recently too so I feel bad coming to him asking for this and that. We didn’t submit any of these (insurances) when we do AOS or ROC and there’s no problem getting either. That’s y this is so stressful :(

dont be stressed about it. Just explain in writing the whole scenario, why you dont have health insurance together like how you explain in this forum. I'm pretty sure they would understand.

Got renter's insurance when I got my first apartment at 19... and now that I'm a landlord, my tenants have to get insurance.  I don't think it's a young people/odd people divide necessarily.

It’s a personal preference i guess. In Philadelphia no one was too serious about that and plus we live on campus so it’s recommended and not a requirement

Oh no I paid federal tax already. This form is for the state of Pennsylvania since we have to sign up an account to pay online. We owe federal, state, and city tax this year. Can you believe how insane it was?

ah okay same like we did for 2015, i think that is the OPA online from the IRS, you can pay and set-up payment agreement online, but yeah, you need to established an account so you can pay online, pretty convenient. but isnt you can pay and set-up and an agreement online for federal and state on irs.gov/OPA?

For federal I didn’t have to fax in any tax form pretty straightforward, just use the website. For state i have to go into their separate website. Isn’t your interview coming up soon? Good luck to both of us :)

Kind a odd, what we did for 2015 was paid online for federal and state, Yes my interview is coming up soon, hoping for smooth sailing on this last journey. Thank you.

By the way what number did you call when paying a federal? My co-worker here owed money to the federal for 2018, when she called the IRS 1-800-829-1040, they said her tax is not yet in the system though she filed her tax March 14.

You said you filed March 19 right? and your tax filing was already on the IRS system since you were able to paid the amount that you owed for the federal.
