This document is not in the right-side up position...

My husband (UK) and I embarked on our journey just over a year ago, and we are so close!

We have just received, for the 5th time, a message from the NVC that our document (marriage license) is not in the "right-side up" position and needs to be rescanned so that the words display horizontally.

We've both checked the original file and it is perfectly landscaped and horizontal.

I am so confused! Has any one else run into this problem, and if so, how did you fix it?

Is it saved as a pdf, sometimes jpeg files are auto- rotated. Send the document to yourself in an email as an attachment and open it on a different computer and see if it shows up horizontally.

Interestingly enough, when I go to the NVC site and view the doc in question, and open it on my work PC, it is in the portrait orientation.

On my husband's, it presents at horizontal.

Right side up would be "portrait".  As already mentioned, PDF files don't usually get rotated by the system.  Did you submit it in PDF format in right side up in portrait orientation?  If not, do.

Actually, for this document, right-sided up would be landscape. We've sent it 2x each as portrait and landscape, as JPEG and PDF. The odd thing, as I stated above, is that when he opens the NVC-submitted doc, it's corrected to landscape orientation (horizontal typography) but when I open the same submitted document, mine does not auto-populate to landscape, so it's presented sideways in portrait layout.

We've resubmitted it and we're just hoping it's correct this time.

Are you saying that when you hold the actual document in your hands and read it, you hold it landscape?
