Pretty much every profession here allows visible tattoos, except for maybe being a lawyer. That is always a little more appearance based.

The upper Midwest, Mountain states, and the Northwest can be a little more accepting in general of appearance. I got hired to do a healthcare job with purple hair and a visible tattoo and I'm getting more.  The bigger issue here is that we aren't the predominate religion. 🤫

Why would anyone want to work somewhere that was so unprogressive as to not allow it in this day and age?

Agree with you absolutely . Personally I am against any discrimination based on people’s appearance or lifestyle.

Because that workplace pays $15 bucks an hour to someone with only a high school degree so you just suck it up and do it while going to college?

Sadly we are not protected under discrimination laws.

So I'm curious... what if a person was applying for citizenship, and they have a bunch of swastika tattoos on their hands and neck, but on their application they answered No to all questions relating to persecution and being in any hate groups?

Well it would be discrimination but as has been mentioned you are not protected under discrimination Laws.

I don’t think they will even reach the citizenship stage if have so much svastika-s . They might deny them at AOS stage ( much earlier) , as they have done with that Mexican people with gang tattoos .

Despite their NO answered  at their application.

That is just what I guess, but experienced members will know more .

That is a very interesting question. I am assuming we're talking about the Nazi swastika... Here in America, they are much more forgiving about the whole swastika thing so it might actually pass if they answer no to all those questions. Here it is okay to show off swastikas as long as it is not considered a "true threat" (when a reasonable person would perceive it as a real threat). It is not enough to just show off a swastika for there to be a "true threat". As long as he has a spotless criminal record they might actually let him in. Then again, they might also interpret it as a "gang" tattoo in the sense that usually Nazis are the ones wearing those and just group him into those kinds of people automatically though they're not supposed to assume that he is going to do something stupid though.

Good luck getting a job with all those swastika tattoos though...
