Hi, I just called USCIS, I was just told my case is outside normal processing time. Reason being; their mistake, case wasn’t pushed through. Literally what I was told. He said now that the outside of normal processing time claim has been submitted we will be waiting 15-60 days for case to be approved, is this true ? My case is at Potomac, and I thought that my case has been in a California this whole time. Potomac processing time is a week to 7 months / California is 15-20 months . It’s been 15 months since I filed petition for my husband and just today I find this out. Has anyone else been in this situation... what’s next?

I filed I-130 for my husband
PD September 3, 2019
Potomac Service Center
I am LPR

BTW: I was told that Potomac is now processing cases from May 2020, if this is of any help to anyone.

I have the same PD . I got approved last monday.
Texas service center

my husband is a LPR

Oh yes... I am in the same situation.

USCIS is pathetic.

I filed I-130 for my wife with PD September 25, 2019. I got my letter from California so I waited till last month. I found out that my case was in Texas service center -- that processes in a week to 7 months. My case has been there since February, without me knowing it. And it has been 14+ months since I filed.

I did out of normal processing time request on November 1. On Nov 10, they replied my address was changed. I called them, and talked to Tire 2 officer. He said, I sent request to wrong service center. He said, I sent the request to Nebraska while my case is in Texas. Plus, told me to wait till Dec 10 before I submit another request to right service center. How do I send request to right service center online? NO IDEA!!!! He said there is an dropdown menu to choose which service center to send request. There is no dropdown with that.

Texas is giving decisions from April 2020 and have not heard anything for case of September 2019. I am just furious at them right now. Their incapability is forcing me to stay away from my spouse.

I am sorry . I been upset since I spoke to an agent, even tho he was very nice and helpful with all my questions, I still can’t believe that because of uscis mistake I am still waiting. And i do understand living apart from a spouse. It’s extremely hard. Hopefully we will hear good news soon rather then later.

Same. My F2A case was transferred from Cali to Potomac 2/23/2020 without notice . My PD is 11/30/2019. I filed a Service Request and they just basically responded “Your case in line to be reviewed. Allow additional time” . Based on the F2a facebook group Potomac is currently working on July 2019 cases . Those processing times are wayy off !

I was told by an agent that they were processing  May 2020 cases. Sooo weird! I was confused. How do you know it’s July 2019? And what Facebook group are you part of if you don’t mind me asking ?

And if you don’t mind me asking. To what senator did you make an inquiry and how did you make the inquiry, what was the reason, outside of normal processing time ?

There are few long reply in few pages earlier about the details of senator. I contacted a senator from my state (Illinois). You need to contact senator from the petitioner's state. It has been less than a month since I contacted senator and today I got approval from USCIS and our case was sent to NVC

Reason to start it was basically out of time processing and non-sense reply from USCIS.
My first notice was from CSC so I waited for long time (about 14 months) assuming it was slow process and looking at CSC processing time. Some people here (and few other site/app) mentioned that USCIS moves cases starting with IOE... without notifying to different service center. So, I made an out of outside inquiry, and they replied from Texas service center -- saying "They updated my address". I found out my case was in TSC from February.

The USCIS officer on phone said the response doesn't make sense but I have to wait for 30 more days before filing another inquiry. That doesn't guarantee they will respond appropriately -- so I just made an inquiry with senator.

Best of luck. Hopefully your case will be approved soon too.

I made an inquiry to congressmen of my state as well. I just looked up congressmen to my state, called one and I was very pleased how nice they were.

I sent them my information via e-mail per their request and heard back on it day after, I gave them permission to act on my behave with uscis. I was told by congressmen’s immigration a pointy  that they have already contacted uscis and that they have 30 Days to respond, but that it usually take them 15 days.

I am very hopeful...

This is the exact process.

I cannot believe how fast my case has moved now since senator did the inquiry. Look at the bold section below:

September 25, 2019:       Mailed the I-130 (Dallas lockerbox)

September 30, 2019:       First letter came from CSC

February  23, 2020:         Case transferred to TSC without notice (found out months later in November).

November 1, 2020:          Out of normal time request sent.

November 10, 2020:        Received non-sense reply for out of normal time inquiry

November 14, 2020:        Senator inquiry started for out of normal time

December 10, 2020:        Case being actively reviewed by USCIS

December 11, 2020:        Case Approved

December 14, 2020:        USCIS emailed me saying Case sent to NVC

December 14, 2020:        Senator's office emailed me saying -- USCIS approved and will send document to NVC within 5 days. If there is any more delay, contact them again.

December 14, 2020:         NVC emailed me saying they received the approved USCIS case and start NVC process and submit all the financial and civil documents.

It took 2 working days -- Friday and Monday for USCIS to approve the case, send it to NVC, NVC to acknowledge they received my case and ask for all financial and civil documents.
