Hello, My mom just had an interview today but the CO gave her 221g requesting for my IRS Transcript. I’m frustrated because They didn’t take her passport. Anyone of you experience this? I need help coz I’m scared why they didn’t take her passport.

Because they determined that they don't need it yet, or thought she may need it between when they get the paperwork and determine she is eligible for the visa and need it.

 

Send the paperwork. Once they need the passport, they will request it.

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

Thank you. I just called the embassy and they said we have to submit also her Passport together with the docs they’re requesting.

Generally it's a good sign. Nothing is guarenteed until the visa is issued, but they can't issue it without the passport.
