Long story short, Petitioner (Greencard holder) applied for UK spouse, filled i-130, approved Dec2018, NVC has the case. Paid the IV and aos fee but have not filled out the forms yet.

Was approved for Citizenship, Now US citizen today no more Greencard status. My sweet husband surprises us all the time, he arrived this week on WVP (visa wiaver from UK).

My question is can we stop the NVC process now and do it here instead? we have been married 6yrs, 5 kids and have all proof USCIS need.

Anyone been through this before? Even if we lose the money paid at NVC, it worth him being here with us and the kids.

Thanks guys!

How soon do you want him to have his green card?

YMMV

We are being patient, within 6 mths or so

Let the process complete as is.  The i485 is taking 12 to 14 months or more to complete

YMMV

5 to 7 months currently is typical .  No travel allowed during this time either until advance parole is received

But, if we decided wait the long haul, can we have the file sent to uscis? as we are weighing best options here

If you file the i485 then when the time comes many months from now, uscis will request it back

Does NVC still think you are a resident or a citizen?

Okay, thank you for your help. What others forms will need to be filed with i485, will we need waiver for waiver program or ead/ap?

Wow, 3 more... Thanks for you help. We will stick to what we have now.

Make sure nvc knows you are now a citizen because then your priority date moves to immediate

How do we do that? They already approved the case and our options are to fill IV and pay fees before interview.
