Hi all,

I am a US Citizen and want to know if I can visit the Islamabad US embassy in Pakistan to inquire about the visa application I filed. Is an appointment needed? I called them and they said the embassy only caters to those who have interview appointments. But I am a US citizen and expect I can visit the embassy any time

please advise

if that embassy is anything like it is in Cairo, an american can visit for specific reasons. If the visit is to inquire about a visa application you have submitted for a spouse it will not work as well, the reason is that those who help US citizens are not the same that approve or deny the visa's and there for would have not authority and power over the outcome.

I know it sucks but only thing you can do is email and wait.

As an American Citizen, you can schedule the appointment https://pk.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/appointments/appointments-form/

According to the website, they will not answer the question regarding GC/visa.
