We started calling 2 weeks ago but we couldnt get through during their hours it was weird. But they sent an email after our inquiry saying it was being sent to the consulate, and gave the letter in the email with our case number on it, so i was able to check today that it was still " In Transit"

Okay that's good.

Do me a favour (and yourself a favour). As soon as you reach "ready" status email or call MTL citing your case number and request that your beneficiary's email address be added to your case file. Normally that is done at the NVC stage (by calling once you have the NVC case #) but now it's too late. Doing this can help you get the Packet 3 sent to you faster as normally they will send P3 via Canada Post if you dont advise anyone of the beneficiary's email. That may keep you moving a little bit faster at least.

That one is a little known fact. 😉

Feel free to pay it forward so it becomes common knowledge.

I will for sure, I appreciate it! Last question 😅..what do we provide for  Evidence of petitioner’s domicile in the United States

Anything with the petitioner's address on it that matches the address USCIS has on file. I brought a photocopy of his DL but you could use a voter's card, a current utility bill, car insurance anything like that that proves the petitioner lives and resides in the US at the address given on the petition.

Ok I was hoping if I called MTL I could get this updated. We tried at the NVC stage but the only email we ever received was one telling us our case had not yet been received. I would love to get the mailing address on the hard copy changed entirely, but getting P3 via email would be preferable anyways (and both would be better).

Well I've seen a few slow ones but not any slow ones from Canada that didnt involve RFE's (and most times RFE's plural). Did you have anything unusual happen that you haven't made mention of on your timeline? Weird status updates? Anything that happened to you that was out of the norm compared to what you've read with others?

We had a shorter NOA1 to NOA2 (submitted May 24/NOA 2 November 13, so less than six months) but then gained it all back at the NVC. It had seemed like the average Canadian timeline from NOA2 to interview was 90ish days and we probably still could be depending on interview availability and when we actually get P3/4,

You can't call Montreal.

Email only.

Of course. Why would a government agency have a phone. That would make too much sense.

Can’t wait to send another email to be ignored lol

Well a USC needing assistance can call.  You cant call regarding visa issues.  Theyd be inundated.

They are actually pretty good about responding to emails at MTL. Now they WILL send auto-replies to no avail until they have reviewed your case and are ready for you to proceed at their pace, but nevertheless you won't be ignored.

Not too sure what can be done about updating the petitioner's address at this stage. You can try in your P3 response email if an enquiry email doesnt work.

At my interview however, both the document intake officer that you see first asked for my petitioner's address and the interviewing officer did too. My guess would be that providing your petitioner's US domicile document as required (showing their updated address) would suffice and enable you to do the change at that point. It really doesnt matter at this point though concerning the petitioner receiving any further correspondence because after the NVC email, the petitioner is not notified of anything.

@d24v @KelsJosh

I'm going to follow you both if you dont mind for statistical purposes of how fast things are proceeding as that's a h_ll of a lot longer than what was happening this summer even. I belong to a Canadian K1 FB Group that would probably benefit from some recent data. I hope you dont mind/keep your timelines updated if you can, lol.

By the time my fiance's visa gets issues we will be at nearly 11 months from start to finish! It's been a looooong wait

Well you're still within the statistical average of 9 to 12 months but I agree that that is very long in comparison to cases from this summer even.
