Drop off pickup of the passport process

20 posts in this topic

Hi again

Was told by the embassy in a email to take medical, passport and 221g to drop off location so they can process her K1

so how does this work? drop this off at a courier location? do they give you a paper showing it was dropped off?

and at pickup , how to get your passport back from the embassy?

never done this before but my previous K1 was a lot smoother but that was 2005 , that was my ex leaving her passport at the time of interview and picking up 5 days later at the embassy

so im new to this drop off box stuff , so how does this process work?

You are better off asking manila specific question in the PI regional forum

I'm surprised they didn't give you specific instructions.......They gave my wife written instructions for sending them a document for AIT.

in a email to her they said

"Dear madam

we are please to inform you the ait has completed its procedure, however your medical record expired , please send us your updated medical record and passport and this newer 221g so that we may process your k1 visa."

updated medical record = taking the medical exam again, which is scheduled for the 24th

they did tell us to send it to the address on the 221g, and we could take it to one of the free courier drop off locations

so I assume, just those 3 items and send it...

I will also say in the email they included a newly dated 221g that had the box "medical" checked. so during AP the medical expired so now the AP is completed they want a new medical as the original expired.

but the key words are "completed" and "send us your passport"

so AP is completed and wanting the passport , medical and updated 221g means , to issue the visa! 3 days before their email they did request me to send more proof of relationship or continuing relationship which is did with photos, wechat logs, logs between her and my mom, photos then 2 days later they say ap is completed send us these documents.

I would just send them exactly what they asked for..........my wife took the items to a drop-off location.........sounds like this is finally coming to a good conclusion....congrats!
