My wife applied for my permanent residence as a green card holder on December 29, 2017 but has gotten her citizenship on 20th November, 2018. And we want to upgrade it. Please how do we do that? Is it by email or write a letter and post it or do I need to log on to their site for updating. Can someone guide me please.

Where is your petition currently? USCIS at NVC? Either way your wife needs to call them and they will tell her how to send in her Naturalization certificate for upgrade.

My i130 is not approved yet. I am still waiting for approval

April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)

May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Thank you. 

Your wife filed a petition.  When the petition is approved, YOU will will apply for an immigrant visa for spouse (IR1 or CR1 depending on how long you've been married).  When that visa is issued AND you have used it to enter the US, THAT is WHEN you will have permanent resident status.  Your wife did not apply for anything and certainly not permanent resident status for you.

 

That said, she can send a copy of her Naturalization Certificate to the USCIS Service Center handling your case but she'll need to follow up again with the National Visa Center, when they get the case, to make sure the upgrade has been processed.  Upgrading to petition from Citizen does not speed up the petition approval process but does greatly impact the process from NVC onward.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
