Good luck for your interview , pls keep me posted

Thank you. The interview ( 16 min) went well. We arrived probably 30 min before scheduled time. The whole room was full of people but it goes pretty much fast. They didn't allow my husband to go with me. I passed  the civics and English test. He asked me following questions:

- How did I obtain my green card?

- How did I meet my husband?

- Do we have any children together?

- Where do I work and what is my occupation and the same about my husband?

- Any travels?

I had to confirm bunch of other things.

For civics:

- For how many years do we choose US Senators?

- What month do we vote for Us president?

- When do we register for selective services?

- One power of federal government?

- Capital of Virginia

- What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy?

Since I have I-751 pending he didn't approve my citizenship yet. He said that he looked at my case and it's approvable. He will approve it at some point today and I should have my citizenship approval by tomorrow.

I took some documents with me but I was only asked for my green card, passport and DL.

I can't believe how fast and smooth my citizenship is being processed,

My interview was on April 18th and approved, on April 29 they scheduled my Oath ceremony for May 14 (I did not receive the letter yet but the digital copy was uploaded last night)

During the interview they told me to wait for six weeks in order to get the Oath letter but I've explained  that I have an upcoming trip in exactly  six weeks (may 24th).   at the same time  I've contacted USCIS through  my USCIS inbox (Ask to an officer option) requesting to schedule at least 10 days before my trip or after my return on june 12 (In order to have time to get an expedited passport) ,  an Inmigration officer answered me telling that my case was carefully reviewed and forwarded to the Local USCIS office and they will give the answer,

An Inmigration officer from my local office sent me a separate e-mail after 72 hours of my inquiry ,  telling me that they scheduled my Oath 10 days before my trip,

I highly suggest to reach USCIS through  your profile, they will give you an answer in less than 48 hours!! they are amazing!

Make sure to mention to your Immigration officer @ day of interview,  and when you get home send a message through USCIS portal to under "get an answer to a general question" Category, They will take care of that. Pretty sure you don't want to re-schedule your Oath ceremony.

and remember that you can take an expedited passport by going to a passport office according the state you live.

Have a good life!

I applied based on 5 years permanent resident. She was very nice. She didn’t ask anything much beside update my speeding ticket. When will your interview?
