Shall I sell my house?

Hey everyone

I'm allien fiance(beneficiary) in Canada and expecting to go to marry my US fance in next Febrary or March. As I will need to do AOS after get married, is there any requirement for my assets(savings in the bank) to do AOS? My sponsor's fiancial support is qualified. However, if they also require my fiancial capbility, I may need to sell my house in Canada before I go to join my sponsor as I have few money in my bank account.  

Thanks for any advice.

Your future spouse needs to be able support you not you support yourself.  

Unless you plan on using the rental income from a home, it may be easier to sell it. Choice is yours.  If you do not sell you would need to declare it on taxes and may need to continue to file taxes in Canada as well.

04/09/2019    NOA1 received/check cashed i 485 and 130 (direct adjustment)

11/7/2019      Interview- Norfolk

11/10/2019    APPROVED (notification rec'd 11/10, approval dated 11/8)

DONE FOR TWO YEARS!!! ;)

 

Filed everything ourselves with no RFE's or delays.

 

CR1 for Child under 21 (20 at time of filing)- Filed by LPR Spouse for his son

4/4/20     Mailed packet

4/12/20   NOA1 rec'd

10/14/21 (havent heard anything... when do i start to get worried?)

9/15/22 APPROVED! Now to wait for NVC and interview....

10/14/21 Mailed to AZ PO Box. Let the waiting begin. Again.

10/16/21 Received at PO Box

Sell it now before you move, otherwise you'll be dinged big time if you sell it once you are resident of the USA.  If you are not tax savvy it becomes a nightmare when it comes to tax season in both countries.
