A de facto slave program is what it is. The employer has near total control over the visa process and gets to OK whether the 'guest worker' gets to stay in the US or not. These workers will not be allowed to 'freely compete' with other workers in other companies. If one company starts unfair practices, not following safety standards, not paying full promised wage, whatever, if the workers complain they get deported.

This is wholly from where their priorities SHOULD be! Giving nuclear families a priority would be a good start, although I hardly need to say that to this crowd...
