Lost wallet with green card for two days. Filed police report and then found it. Travelling next month

Hi all,

I am about to travel to Argentina in November to visit my family and I remembered this little inconvenient I had back in January for couple of days. I lost my wallet at work with GC, DL and credit cards. I kinda panicked so I filed a police report following the advised steps and waited few days before filling for GC replacement with USCIS. Wallet was found with everything in it after 2 days. I must have accidentally dropped it underneath my filling cabinets. Never contacted USCIS, only police report. I was wondering if there is any possibility of the GC being flagged even though I never contacted USCIS.  I am also in the middle of my N400 process, filed in 3/18 and fingerprinted in 4/18...waiting for interview.

What do you guys think? Safe to travel?

Thanks,

Just to clarify the above statements since they seem to contradict one another they way the post is written.

After filing the police report, did you file the i-90, or not?

If you never actually filed for the replacement, you should be fine.  I would suggest contacting the police department and letting them know you found it, though.

Thanks for your reply and sorry if the above post seems confusing, which re-reading it I find it confusing as well. Just to clarify, no, I never filed for GC replacement, never contacted USCIS. Only police report filed online the same day I though wallet was lost.

Then contact the police office where the report was filed and notify them of the found wallet and that the case is closed (not that they are actively looking for a wallet).  Since you did not file for a replacement GC though the I90 process you should be fine traveling, but I would keep a copy of whatever receipt/document you might get when you cancel the police report.
