Hi guys I am just now preparing my FORM I-485... I just got in the US  a month ago and got married last october 27th, I have no clue what needs to be done first and what is what... I seen videos on youtube about biometrics and i have no idea what that is for. Anyone can please let me know the step by step process that me and my husband needs to do? right now am over a month here in US  and I still havent gotten no SSN coz we waited for our Marriage Licence and it just came in the mail yesterday planning to go tomorrow to get my SSN. What are the requirements I need for the SSN? and I need Major help for filling FORM I-485. thank you :( 😥

Along with Form I-485 there are much more FORMS enclosed with it. What are the requirements for Form I-485 that we need to submit along with it.

Passport with K1 Visa stamp. You should only apply if you're not married yet and before day 72 of your 90 days.

I864 Affidavit of Support and I765 EAD if you want to work before you get the GC and I131 if you want to leave the US before you get your GC.

They all have instructions which you will need to read to see what documents will be needed for your particular situation.

There are step by step instructions here on VJ if you use the search bar up above to search the form number. 

Take a scroll through this thread plus the few most recent threads of September and August.

is this for SSN? I didn't quite get what you meant with the 72 day out of my 90  days of stay here in the US am sorry.

thank you for the info i'll sure to take a note of them. right now I have no idea what should i do first coz when I searched for the form tons of forms and things comes up and i am kind of lost not knowing which path to take  :(

thats why i am very much thankful for those who takes their time to help out like you. Likewise me and my husband we only are doing everything on our own. filing papers already cost a lot what more hiring a lawyer.

They won't process your SSN after you are married and they wont process your SSN if your I94 is about to expire so if you are going to apply before marriage you must do it at least two weeks before your I94 expires on day 90 after your arrival in the US
