How long before the interview do we need to visit the hospital for the exam?

Hello. 

 

I recently got my email to visit the hospital to do my exam. The date I was given is October 26. How long before this day should I do my medical exam? My September is very busy so I'm not sure if I can make it this month or not.

 For medical exam, generally 1-2 weeks a head of time is more than enough time.

Depends on the place most likely.  Here in HCMC only two places can do the medical check, and one was booked up solidly during the 3 weeks we had from appointment letter to actual interview time, and even the other hospital seemed to think 3 weeks was cutting it close.  That could be due to issues here in Vietnam though.

Only two places do the medical exam in Belgrade. We made an appointment for the day before (Albeit over a month in advance) and were assured that the results would be ready for the exam next day.

 

This probably all depends on which country you are in and what sites the consulate accepts the results from, it would be best to call the medical sites in your specific case to find the details.

You can call in (not online) - it depending our their workloads but my parents-in-law was able to schedule their medical check up the next day after they called in.  

 

People prefer IOM instead of Cho Ray Hospital as people work there are more "polite"  (I am not sure if it is true)

I don't think so.  We just called into IOM and they acted as if it was way to close to the interview date even though it was a few weeks out still.  They were booked up.  Went through Cho Ray and my wife said it was fine, except one staff member was rude and  was terrible at drawing blood.  Vaccinations a few days later at "International Health Quarantine Centre of HCMC." Take results back to Cho Ray and receive your results/envelope(do not open!!!) Lots of running around the city, but wasn't too bad.
