Procedures for canceling visa application?

Hello all,

 

My wife and I have decided to abandon the process of applying for her visa in the US and instead I have decided to go for Spanish and EU Citizenship. 

 

I am curious about how to cancel the visa without negatively impacting her ability to apply for Consular Processing or a B1 visa in the future.

We have received our NOA1 and are waiting for the NOA2.

Call USCIS and follow up with a letter to the service center to withdraw the petition, you can include a very brief reason that you have decide to pursue a move to your wife instead of her relocating

she should not need a b1, she should be able to travel to the US using her ESTA for the purposes of visiting

To clarify, the US Citizen filed a petition, so the US Citizen withdraws the petition.  No visa has been applied for yet.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

07-09-20 Called USCIS to enquire about NOA-1. Was told it was sent on 07-01-20.

07-11-20 Received 18-month extension letter NOA dated 06-30-20

05-03-20 Received Biometric Appointment scheduled for May24th (NY/NJ area)
