Hi all,

I have a pending N400 and will be officially moving at the end of September 2018. I know I can update my address within 10 days. However, I’ll likely be out of my current address within the next 2 weeks even though my lease doesn’t end until the end of September. Can I update my address now knowing what my new address with be already? Or do I have to wait? I’m hoping to actually speed up my N400 as the new address is in a county that works much quicker than my current one. Thanks.

It really depends on how you have your mail organized (i.e. when will your mail start moving to the new address).  Make sure you update USCIS about the same time.

Will your new address be in the same jurisdiction? If you move to a new USCIS district, you have to live there three months before you are eligible for naturalization there.

Yes same jurisdiction. I’m moving from LA county to San Bernardino county and both are managed in the same jurisdiction I believe!

Whats the time line for your facility?

Either way doesnt matter, just update it now, they will take a week or two to respond anyways.

if the timeline puts you to have interview 2-3 months later, just submit it after moving

Timeline is not until April next year for LA county. San Bernardino would like be December this year based on their wait times and other VJ members.
