Hello!

I am in the process of collating the package itself. What do you reckon IS the correct way to fill out this section?

I've heard from some who have decided to add in the whole story of how they met, how they relationship evolved, etc. but I've also heard of people who just went straight to the point and described the circumstances of the first meeting itself.

Which method is the most effective and preferred method? Also, is it necessary to add a summary of how the relationship evolved in another section of the total package if one chooses to take the latter route?

They just want to know how you met, when you met in person (if initially online), and then outline any meetings in person.  Include info showing conversations and also pictures together.  The rest isn’t really anything they use.  It shouldn’t be overly long.

This is the opportunity to "front load" your application.   While the question asks how you met this is the section that you can use to provide relationship evidence that eventually will get in front of the CO before your fiancee's interview.  The importance of this depends on the country of the beneficiary.  The harder the consulate the more important the 'front-loading' becomes.  What you want to include would ideally be selected proof of not only meeting in person but also how your relationship has grown and flourished.  Things like copies of boarding passes, passport stamps pictures together along with the receipts etc for those things.  Chat logs that are selected to show progression of the relationship if you have that.  You are looking for a quality more than quantity and you can be creative as well.  But what you submit should be well organized and easy to read.  For us we submitted a packet that had each page labeled with a page number as well as a table of contents that showed what was in this package.   If you future spouse is from an 'easy' country then the importance of this could be much less.  Like most federal forms you have the option of putting in an answer that says something like "See Appendix A'  and then submit much more.  Certainly you do want to say early on how you met.   When it comes time for the interview your future spouse can bring items to that interview but there is a real possibility that items brought will not be looked at where as a well laid out package of gives the CO a chance to form an opinion before the applicate shows up at the window.

Would you consider Singapore an easy country? I would assume so. But thank you, I do intend to front load it as much as possible so that the approval will not necessarily be quick but easier.
