I have questions please. I have applied for I-751 (17 months ago) and now filled N-400 (1 month). I was told that both can be processed same time. How true is it? And also I and my wife do not live in the state because of work. Will that affect me in anyway?

You can’t apply to either of those if you don’t live in the states.

When did you leave the US?

Do you plan on coming back to the US?

 

Overall, the N-400 will most definitely be denied because one the requirements is that you have to have lived in the same USCIS district for 3 months at the time of filing, plus your time inside and outside the US must meet their requirements.

OP,

There are MANY threads regarding this very question and some research on Visa Journey will generate the multitude of threads on it.

 

With that said, you can file for naturalization but you may or may not be interviewed for both at the same time. Also, your N400 will not be approved if your I-751 is still pending.

USCIS's updated Policy Manual shows this: Unless USCIS approves the applicant’s Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (Form I-751), the applicant remains ineligible for naturalization.
