I attended my interview October 2017. Officer said it looks good and he just has to review my file a bit more. i have been very patient with them as im not only outside of processing times but way outside the 120 day window.

i have files 4 service requests, contacted congressman and been to 3 infopasses.

Initially the response was "pending adjudication" but now "pending security checks"

I don't want to take the lawsuit route yet. My next option is Ombudsman but i dont even know if that is effective. I'm emotionally drained by this whole process. I applied based on 5yr rule. No criminal record and i'm not from a muslim country. I just have few traffic citations. I don't know why USCIS is trying to frustrate me for no reason. It's been over a year since i filed.

Anybody been through this weird ordeal and how did they get it resolved because this doesn't make any sense

Wow! That's a long time to wait. I totally understand you not wanting to file an expensive writ of mandamus, but it sure seems like you've already turned over every stone trying to get action on this. What did your congressman do for you? Did they push to get an answer?

Whether you from a Muslim Country or not is very irrelevant here. You already lived 5 years in the US.  Why will USCIS  judge  people base on which country they from?

As long as your records are clean and you meet all the requirements, approval will surely be granted.

Congressman said case is still pending.
