I know I am very early in the game but I guess there’s nothing wrong in getting everything cleared while waiting. So my question is I would like to be with my fiancé for the interview process & then come bk to US together . Is that possible as I hve read it could take several weeks to get visa after a successful interview ? So if I go for a two week to attend interview not sure my plan is going to work . What do you all recommend ? Mumbai is our counsulate

I do not know specifically about Mumbai, but most consulates do not allow you to be with your fiancee for the  interview.  A better plan might be to schedule your trip for after the interview and then return together.

You could definetly be with your fiance for the interview. My fiance was with me for two weeks but unfortunatley he forgot his passport at the hotel room on the day of interview and we chose mumbai as our pickup location. It worked for us. Good luck

@Nikki&pat, can I ask you after the interview how long it took forbyou to get the visa pkt? Do they give it to you the same day if everything goes smooth or do they mail it to your address ? Thanks a lot

@ujones You can either give your address or choose a pick up location while scheduling the interview appointment .It took 4 days for me to get my visa in mumbai pickup location maybe it can take up to a week to get to your fiances address.
