Hello Everyone,

I am a USC and I have 3 kids currently living in the Philippines. My husband works offshore in the states so his work schedule changes very quick. We plan on going back to the states next year when girls school is over. I want my brother to go with us to assist me with my children during the flight. We will be staying in the states for 2 months and fly back in again when it is getting closer for my children to go back to school. Their ages are 9, 7 and 3 years old by the time we fly. What is the chance of my brother getting approve on his visa? What should we do to get the possibility of the visa to be approve? Please help.

TIA

His visa approval will depend solely on his capacity to demonstrate strong ties to his home country, so anything that shows this.. job, school, business, etc is needed.

He works for us with our small business. We are also a partner in one of our businesses both online and offline. His name is on the business on the DTI Certificate ( Department of Trade and Industry ). We have joint bank account for the business. Granted the business is only less than a year but it's going. Hope that will help also. He is not married though. I've heard it dings a red flag when the applicant is single

Your brother will have to prove to the satisfaction of the US consular official at the interviewing US embassy/consulate, that they have significant ties to the Phils. such that they would return to the Phils. after their US visit is completed. Such ties could include, property, house ownership, current stable employment, etc. Each visitor visa applicant is presumed to have immigration intent, and must prove that they are not trying to immigrate to the US. A letter from a doctor, any documents from you, or any other invitation-type letter would likely have no positive effect on the visitor visa approval.

Nobody knows the answer, it's up to the CO at the time.

Pay $160 and find out the answer.

My sister in law applies a few months ago and she was a pretty good candidate, Had traveled to a few countries never overstayed, had a steady job in Singapore.  She applied in Singapore and got shot down.

On the other hand her two cousins working in Singapore and same age, and two aunts in Philippines got approved for a Tourist Visa to come to the USA, The brother of the Aunt and Uncle of the two in Singapore wrote a letter saying he would take care of all expenses.  He is a US Citizen via joining the US Navy and lives in Philippines.   So go figure.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Tourist visas are VERY difficult from the Philippines since the major export from the Philippines is people (OFW).  A few years ago I tried to help a friend get a tourist visa.  She had a good job, a small business (store) a home she owned and her 10 year old son who was going to stay in the Philippines during her trip.  She was denied because they did not feel that a job, a small business, owning a home and a child were substantial enough reasons to prove she would go back.  That was 4 years ago.  Things are much tougher now.  All you can do is pay the money and file.  It all comes down to the CO's decision at the interview.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.
