Hello everyone,

My Gc will expire March 19, 2019. My permanent address is in Massachusetts but the 90 days window (Dec 2018 till June 2019) i will be different state for school. I tried calling their number at USCIS but all are automated cant even talk to a human being. I am sure they will send a biometric schedule or interview. What should I do?  Can anyone help me?

Thank you for reading and hope to hear from you.

Sincerely yours,

Snoopy123

hi

don't worry, that's the period in which you can mail the form, the biometrics will take months an if you were to have an interview, it would be over a year

as long as you mail the form and evidence within the 90 day window you will be fine

I don't know where you got the 90 day window june 2019. the 90 day window is 90 days prior to the expiration of your gC, so Dec to March not June

Hi aleful,

thank you you so much for your reply. I plan to send my papers dec 19, 2018 start of 90 days) and usually I will receive a biometric within one or 2 months which will be more or less January or February 2019 and they will send to my permanent address for a schedule of biometric in Boston. During that time I will be in Montana and I don't know what will happen if I don't show up for that schedule. Montana is very far from Massachusetts. I don't know if it's possible to request if they can have the biometric near Montana where I will be instead near my permanent address.

Hope to to hear from you again. Thanks

Hi Aleful,

The 90 days window for my Gc will be from Dec to Mar. The Dec to Jun that I am referring to is my schooling in Montana, which is not my personal address. I am sure during the time the USCIS will send mails for biometric appointment.

hi

so why then are you sending the form so early? you can still send it February and nobody knows how long it will take them to send the letter for biometrics. but if you send it early for sure you will have your biometrics

and since your permanent residence is in Mass you can always come back a few days in order to do the biometrics.

removing conditions is far more important than school, if you don't remove conditions you can be deported. this should be a priority in your life

Those filing through the Vermont Service Center are currently receiving biometrics appointments in about a month or two of filing (our petition was received 06/15 and my wife's biometrics appointment is later this week). That may or may not be the case when you're ready to file, but it's something to consider. Also, you'd want to file in enough time to get your extension letter in advance of your green card expiring (we received my wife's about a week later). Would you be willing to file near the end of your window and be prepared to reschedule your appointment, if you get one before you return?

Hi tomcloud, that's what I am thinking too. Filling it near the end of my window. Also, I am planning to submit a letter of request if they can schedule my biometric indicating the dates I will be available (if they will grant it) together with my application paper. By the way, can they also send you the receipt of application and biometric appointment letter through email besides mail?

Thank you for the help.

Snoopy123, the receipt letter also serves as your extension letter; if ever you need to present it you'd need the original. We didn't receive an electronic copy. Also, for biometrics, since the site updates have been severely delayed you'd not want to rely on that for timely notifications.

I really hope things work out as best as possible.
