My Fiance and I were notified by the National Visa Center that our case was approved and sent to the US Embassy in London.  Its been two weeks and we haven't heard a thing.  The Embassy site says the NVC will book the interview and send to embassy, and the NVC site says the embassy is responsible for booking the interview and providing next steps.  We are unsure of what to do here.  Do I send the financial and Affidavit docs to my fiance or embassy? Any advise on timeline and process would be helpful.

First of all, try not to stress...breath. We didn't hear anything for 15 long days about the embassy receiving ours and finally my fiance got an email from them. We had already scheduled his medical and interview at that point. Your fiance will schedule everything, the embassy will schedule nothing for you. You send all documents needed to your fiance not the embassy.

Good luck, I understand how you feel. I was literally crying and stressing everyday we didn't hear anything fearing the worst but it will come! :)

I only just received a letter in the post yesterday, it contained a copy of the approved petition, and a letter telling me to go online and follow the steps to apply for the VISA, all of which I did about 2 weeks ago.

I wouldn't panic. if you have your LND case number from calling the nvc / other correspondence you can carry on with the process without receiving anything else from the US embassy here in London.

I-129F Submitted: 01 November 2017NOA1 Received: 03 November 2017NOA2 Received: 22 May 2018 | NVC Received: 08 June 2018 | Consulate Received: 06 July 2018 | Medical: 27 July 2018 | Interview: 10 August 2018 (APPROVED) | VISA in Hand: 22 August 2018 | POE: 28 September 2018 :joy:

All your instructions for London are online.  https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

There are six topic links at the top of the page, but before you read those, read the paragraphs below them. Then read the Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Step 4 instructions. Follow them in order.

Next read the six topic links at the top of the instruction page https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

The American fiancé only needs to send the form I-134 (affidavit of support) with proof of income to the UK fiancé. London would approve the support issue with only a letter of employment, so don't get too crazy proving income five different ways. That is simply not needed. Two ways is very sufficient.

 Nothing else is needed for a London interview from the US citizen. That means NO proof of relationship, photos, love letters, further trips, NOA 2, copy of petition packet, Skype or Facebook. None of that. The rest of the London part is all about the UK fiancé and his/her documents.

If you never get the letter from London, it's okay because you now know the instructions are on the embassy website and have the link bookmarked https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/. Start with Step 1 today (fill out DS-160). Then start getting those documents like police certificate and everything needed for the medical. NHS does not work quickly so get that sorted before making the visa medical appointment.

Website of the visa medical with good info http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us.htm Be sure to click the topic "What to bring" so you will have that sorted before the appointment.

Thank you everyone for all the help.  I’ve been reviewing the steps and I still don’t see where he goes to book his interview?  Does he get a notification to do that after the DS160 form?

He will get no more notifications. Read Step 4 again. It is explained quite well.

STEP 4 - Scheduling Your Interview

After you have attended your medical examination, you should then schedule your visa interview through the Visa Appointment Service website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and follow these instructions:

  • Select “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”;
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to register an account;
    • If you have children applying under your case number, you may “add” applicants to your account after you have added your own details.
  • You will be asked to select your delivery method for the return of your passport if your visa application is successful. Delivery to a courier depot is free. If you wish to upgrade to home/office delivery you can pay an additional fee through your account;
  • Pay the MRV application fee;
  • You will then be offered the first available interview date, but you may choose any available date. Note: You may schedule an appointment to take place after the petition expiration date, provided that you bring to your interview a signed letter from your petitioner confirming that you both remain legally free to marry and that you will marry within 90 days of your arrival in the United States.
  • Please go to “Print Instructions” in order to print your courier confirmation page. You must bring this with you on the day of the visa interview.
