Hi everyone second time posting here I have some question as this has never happened to anyone in my family.(I am a born citizen, if that helps in anyway) Okay to the point, my wife went to her interview and everything went well they believe we have a bona-fide relationship but they refused my wife's visa under section 221(g). They informed my wife that the current joint sponsor has to many people sponsored on her file and that she would have to choose a different sponsor, the things they have asked for include the following.

Location: India

-Form I-864 from a new joint sponsor.

Supporting documents requested include.

-2016 or 2017 U.S Individual Tax Returns from the Joint Sponsor

-2016 or 2017 W-2 forms from the Joint Sponsor

I have sent these by 3 day fed ex(signed originals). My wife should receive them Wednesday. my questions are aimed at people that have been in a similar situation as mine (or anyone that can help me)

How long would it take to process these documents?

Should I be worried about anything?

If you had a refusal 221(g) how did it work for you and why was it not approved?

We have been apart for over a year and 6 months! I really want her to come to the US so we can finally get out lives started any information from you guys would be a big help and definitely relive some anxiety. Thanks Again!

Actually, it is not a refusal, just submit the documents that the co asked for at the interview.

as fas as the timeline to recieve these documents, I do not know but if everything else was good on you’re paperwork and interview, I would not expect to long of a wait.

My wife and I have been working on immigration for close to 2 years, be patient, check your documents before you send them to make sure they are complete, send them in and chexk back with them regurally. You should be okay!

good luck to you 👍🏻

They usually want evidence of US Citizenship or LPR status from a Joint sponsor as well.  If the joint sponsor is married, it's best to provide an I-864a and same status evidence from the spouse.

It will take as long as it takes.  Usually a matter of a few weeks but seldom less than a month from the time they get everything they need.  If they need something you didn't send, start that time over again.  How long you wait is not their concern.  They'll do their jobs thoroughly and in due course.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
