I130 - Names of the Beneficiary's Spouse

I have a lil confusion about this field.

My gf is the petitioner, and I am the beneficiary. But I am the person filling out the form on her behalf. 

 

So form I130 requires the petitioner (my gf) to fill out all beneficiary's spouse (me). Problem is she's my first wife, so should I put her name in this? That means her name will appear as a petitioner and beneficiary's spouse. 

Will it create confusion if I fill this out?

Even more confusing, the next section asks for Beneficiary's family which once again asks for beneficiary's spouses (and children).

Should I fill this out, too?

 

I can really imagine the incompetence of the people making up these forms. Jeez.

Hi OP,

 

Your post seems confusing. You are filing an i-130 which is Petition for Alien Relative/Spouse of US citizen yet, you keep putting that it's your girlfriend. It makes a whole lot of difference between the two.

Well, for BOTH of your sake, you need to get accustomed to saying "wife" real quick. One simple slip of the tongue saying "girlfriend" instead of "wife" can cause the interview to go south and result in a denial. Interview officers are trained to pick up on the slightest mistakes made by applicants.

reading your question makes me confused too...  let say it this way...

 

Petitioner --- Your wife

Beneficiary -- You

 

PAGE 3: "Name of your all spouses",

if you are your wife 'first husband', then you just fill in your name there.

If you wife married before, then she needs to fill in her ex-husband name(s) there.

 

PAGE 6: "Information About Beneficiary's Family"

Person 1 - Fill your name here and "relationship" write "Spouse"

Person 2,3...etc. - If you have any children, fill in their name here

Yep. The reply is for the person who post this post so it would be his name there. 

but yes, Person 1 is the spouse's name. Thanks for pointing that out!
