Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

When you show up to an interview for a job, NO MATTER WHAT JOB OR COMPANY, the first thing that stands out is your appearence. And judged on THAT alone, you can be denied a position. They dont have to tell you to fix your hair, they will just deny you a job.

Appearence is the most important part of the job at disney, i mean cmon it is the biggest attraction in the world. They want their ppl looking clean and neat. The only one allowed with dreads at disney is the guy who plays the part of Capt Jack Sparrow, AND THAT IS HIS UNIFORM.

as far as discrimination, pfffttttt, thats just the easy way out of feeling rejection.

very good!

To the OP:

if you are a Hiring manager for Disney. would you hire you for the postion looking

the way you do? think about it. because, as the manager you have guidelines

and standards set by the company. it is also your employees and their professional style

that will help you reach your goals. - so would you hire you? also how would you deal

with an employee that was resistant to change <such as you> this is what the manager

was thinking.

Disney's target customer is middlebrow American. You're their corporate image, and it's stricter than a lot of white-collar jobs.

As for the general hair thing, I could see a policy about hair that was actually discriminatory if it were being used as a proxy to keep out people of a different race or ethnic group, but dreadlocks isn't it.

it's not a big deal. i'm the OP and i said i was a bit surprised and a bit po'ed about the recruiter telling me no because of my hair.

but like i said a couple times - i'm over it.

i don't really want to work at disney - i'd not change my appearance for them. i already have a job - this was a season thing -something extra.

i'm a teacher and dreads work in my favor at the school where i work  . i forget that is not the case everywhere.
